Class 5 Year 3

Spring Term Planning

Displays in Class 5

In Class 5 we learned all about how people lived in the Stone Age. During our dance lessons we created a sequence showing how hunter – gatherers lived!

Class 5 designed and made their own bookmarks in Religion using quotes from the Bible.

In Class 5 we have been designing our own menus on the computers.

Our topic this term in Class 5 has been ‘Extreme Earth’. We created dance sequences showing the stages of a volcanic eruption. We also made volcanoes using papier mache and created a chemical reaction using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar for the lava. We are going to use this as a stimulus for our Literacy work and write instructions on how we made our volcanoes.

Our theme for Caritas in Action in Class 5 this term was all about ‘Stewardship’. Year 3 learned about Saint Francis and how he cared for the world and for animals. We thought about how we could care for the world and for animals.  We all contributed to create a life size Saint Francis and we made clay animals for him to look over.

In Science in Class 5 we have been learning all about fossils! Mr North came to see us to teach us all about them. We sorted igneous and sedimentary rocks, explored fossils in a fossil hunt, sketched fossils and painted a cast mould of a fossil.

Class 5 pupils write all about Mr North’s visit to school.

In Class 5′s numeracy lessons have been learning all about column addition.

Class 5 have been writing fables in their literacy lessons.
